George Azzopardi is assistant professor of computer science at the University of Groningen, the Netherlands. He received the B.Sc. degree (Hons.) in computer science from Goldsmiths, the M.Sc. degree in computer science from the Queen Mary University of London, and the Ph.D. degree (cum laude) in computer science from the University of Groningen, The Netherlands. He co-promoted three Ph.D. candidates so far and is supervising 5 ongoing ones. He has (co)authored more than 60 peer-reviewed publications and he is associate editor of the Q1 Pattern Recognition journal as well as of Pattern Recognition Letters. His research interests include pattern recognition, machine learning, predictive analysis , medical image analysis, and information systems. He is currently member of the EU H2020 project called 4NSEEK.
