Short Biography

Maria Eduarda Santos Monteiro is a PhD student in the Postgraduate Program in Parasitic Biology (PPGBP, IOC, Fiocruz) associated with the Laboratory of Peptides and Proteins (LBPP). Her PhD project involves investigating the role of neutralizing antibodies in COVID-19. Part of her PhD was developed at the Laboratory of Respiratory Viruses and Measles (LVRS), working with discovering and repositioning drugs for a rapid response in the fight against SARS-CoV-2. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in biological sciences from the Fluminense Federal University (UFF) and a Master's degree in sciences from the PPGBP (IOC, Fiocruz). During her scientific initiation and Master's degree, she worked with in vitro and in silico pre-clinical trials to search for new promising natural or synthetic compounds and their therapeutic targets for treating Chagas disease.
