Asma Tahir Awan is the Program Manager in the Administrative Faculty in the Department of Social and Behavioral Health with a strong background in medical sciences, community health program evaluation, epidemiology, and public health, and experience in quantitative and qualitative research for disease states across different levels of the population. She is also the grant evaluation coordinator for the federally funded CDC Public Health Disparity Grant program, which focuses on the COVID-19 prevention efforts for health disparity reduction in high-risk and under-served populations in Nevada. Her scientific interests are the development of interventions based on the newer multi-theory model (MTM) framework for preventing high-risk behaviors, and the measurement and evaluation of social and behavioral health. Asma Awan is currently a Fellow of the Royal Society of Public Health, holds memberships in the American Public Health Association (APHA), Society for Public Health Education (SOPHE), and Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS).
