Derek N. Pierson has been a Research Soil Scientist (Forest and woodland Ecosystems) at the Rocky Mountain Research Station since 2022. He obtained a B.S. in Microbiology at the University of Idaho in 2008, an M.S. in Forest Science at the Colorado State University in 2013, and a Ph.D. in Soil Science at the Oregon State University in 2020. His research interests include soil science and forest ecology.
