Wei Sun is professor of Central South University, doctoral supervisor, and Dean of the School of Resource Processing and Bioengineering. He is a distinguished professor of Changjiang Scholars and among the New Century Talents of the Ministry of Education, the 121 New Century Talents of Hunan Province, and the 531 Project Talents of Hunan Province. He is also the Secretary-General of the China Mineral Processing Council, the Deputy Director of the Key Laboratory of Rare Metal Metallurgy and Material Preparation in Hunan Province, the Director of the China Nonferrous Metals Society, the Deputy Director of the Jiangxi Tungsten Industry and Rare Earth Industry Technological Innovation Strategic Alliance, and a member of the Chinese Chemical Society. He served as an editorial board member of Mining and Metallurgy Engineering, Nonferrous Metals, Nonferrous Metals Science and Engineering, Mineral Protection and Utilization, Mining and Metallurgy, and other journals.
