Dr. Sandro Luiz dos Santos

He graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry from the University of São Paulo (1995), a Master of Science Degree in Chemistry from the University of São Paulo (1998), a Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of São Paulo (2003), and a Post-Doctorate Degree in Mass Spectrometry at the University of São Paulo (2012-2013). He is currently a full professor at the Federal University of Vales do Jequitinhonha and Mucuri (UFVJM) and a permanent professor of postgraduate programs in pharmacy, chemistry, and biofuels. He coordinated the postgraduate program in biofuels (PPGBiocomb) at UFVJM/UFU from 2016 to 2018. He coordinates the postgraduate program in pharmaceutical sciences (PPGCiFarm) at the Federal University of Vales do Jequitinhonha and Mucuri (2018 to present). He has experience in chemistry, focusing on organic synthesis, acting on the following subjects: biodiesel synthesis, additive synthesis for biofuels, drug synthesis (development of new synthetic methods for the preparation of bioactive substances, such as anticancer); all of these processes are carried out using solid or heterogeneous catalysts.
