Dr. Josephine Nsaful is a General Surgeon with special interest in breast cancer. She is also a Senior Lecturer in surgery at the University of Ghana Medical School. Dr. Nsaful earned her medical degree, MB ChB, from the University of Ghana Medical School in 2005. She became a Fellow of the West African College of Surgeons in 2015 and a Fellow of the Ghana College of Surgeons in 2019. Dr. Nsaful works at the Breast Unit, Department of Surgery, KBTH, where she is involved in breast cancer management and breast cancer surgeries. Her research focuses on various aspects of breast cancer, particularly its distinctive characteristics in individuals of African origin. Recognizing variations in disease behavior and treatment responses among different populations, her research encompasses quality of life, survival outcomes, metastatic disease, and comprehensive patient and public education on breast cancer. She leads the Breast and Cervical Cancer Awareness Group, is a member of the Editorial Board for the Journal of West African College of Surgeons and the UGMS newsletter Editorial Committee and is an executive member of the Breast Society of Ghana.
