Professor (James) Yun-Bae Kim, a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) certificate and Ph.D. degree from the College of Veterinary Medicine of Seoul National University (SNU), Korea, in 1996 and worked at the Agency for Defense Development (ADD) as a senior researcher from 1988 to 2002. He has taught students at the Department of Toxicology, College of Veterinary Medicine, Chungbuk National University (CBNU), Korea, since 2002. Dr. Kim has studied the neurotoxicopathology of chemicals as well as neurodegenerative diseases and brain aging and has published more than 370 research papers and patents. His recent research has been focusing on stem cells encoding functional genes for degenerative diseases such as Alzheimer’s disease and senescence, stroke, cerebral palsy, multiple sclerosis, Lou Gehrig disease, Parkinson’s disease, glaucoma, arthritis, etc., since he successfully developed neural stem cells effective for Alzheimer’s dementia as a visiting professor at University of British Columbia Hospital (UBCH), Canada, in 2011. Professor Kim has been Editor-in-Chief of Laboratory Animal Research (LAR) for ten years. He is also leading stem cell R&D as a CEO of Designed Cells Co., Ltd., Korea, a Vice-Chair of Qingdao Sinder Designed Stem Cells Co., Ltd. (QSDSC), China, and a Co-Chair of Designed Cells Europe D.O.O. (DCE), Croatia for incurable disease therapy and well-aging.
