Dr. Subham Mukherjee currently serves as a Research Scientist at Freie Universität Berlin, where he contributes to the CliWaC project, dedicated to addressing water-related risks amidst climate change. In his previous role as a Joint Berlin-Jerusalem Post-Doctoral Fellow, Dr. Mukherjee conducted research on flood mitigation strategies in coastal urban areas. His academic journey includes earning a PhD in Urban Water Security, supported by a DAAD full scholarship, and obtaining three Master of Science degrees in Ecohydrology, GIS for Catchment Dynamics and Management, and Remote Sensing and GIS. Throughout his career, Dr. Mukherjee has demonstrated a multidisciplinary approach, holding various research and advisory positions in England, Scotland, and India. Notable among these are his contributions to projects with the Rural Payment Agency for DEFRA, the Scottish Environment Protection Agency, and as a Project Supervisor for Coastal Regulatory Zones under the Ministry of Environment and Forest for the Government of India. Dr. Mukherjee's academic excellence has been recognised through prestigious scholarships and grants, such as a full Research Scholarship from the Chinese Scholarship Council. He has received the GeoX Network’s research travel grant and the Global Challenge Research Fund (GCRF) workshop grant. His contributions extend beyond academia, with numerous publications in reputable journals and active participation in international conferences and roundtables.
