Angelo Vacca is a professor of Internal Medicine at the
Department of Precision and Regenerative Medicine and Ionian Area–DiMePRe-J,
University of Bari Aldo Moro, Medical School. He is the Chief of the Clinica Medica
“Guido Baccelli”, Head of the Lab “Angiogenesis, Vascular Biology, and Myeloma
Microenvironment”, Coordinator of the Specialization Course of Emergency
Medicine, President of Telemedicine Research Centre at the University of Bari
Aldo Moro, and Consultant of Rector for the Health Area of the University of
Bari Aldo Moro. He received a PhD in Clinical Immunology from the University of
Bari Aldo Moro. His research interests include angiogenesis and tumor
progression (the measurement of microvessel areas in tumors; microvessel area as
progression marker; correlation with invasion and metastasis; bone marrow
angiogenesis and myeloma progression; and mechanisms of the induction of angiogenesis
by FGF-2, VEGF and Epo); multiple myeloma and related malignancies:
amyloidosis, cryoglobulinemia, IgG4 immunoproliferative syndromes, and POEMS
(clinical, cellular and immunochemical features; angiogenesis and tumor
progression; and polycenter, controlled chemotherapy/biological drugs studies).
