Er'el Granot earned his Ph.D. in Quantum Conductance in 2001, under the guidance of Prof. Mark Azbel at Tel Aviv University. From 1993 to 2000, he worked as a researcher in the Electro-optics Department at the Soreq Nuclear Research Center. Subsequently, he served as a consultant to various electro-optics and ultrasound start-ups and technology companies, including KaiLight, Oriol, Imadent, Optium, and Finisar.
Since 2002, he has been working in the Electrooptics group of the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Ariel University. He was appointed as a full professor in 2016, and since 2020, he has been serving as the head of the Quantum Technologies group. He has authored three books, a dozen book chapters, more than a dozen patents, and over a hundred refereed papers.
