Hwee-Ling Koh graduated from the Department of Pharmacy, National University of Singapore (NUS) with a B.Sc.(Pharm) and M.Sc. in Pharmacy. She received her PhD degree from the University of Cambridge, UK. She is a registered pharmacist with the Singapore Pharmacy Council. She is an Associate Professor at the Department of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, National University of Singapore. She serves in various international and national committees. She served as the Chair of the Department Outreach Committee (2003–2014, 2016–2022), the Chair/Co-Chair of the Department Teaching Excellence Committee (2009–2016), a member of the Department Teaching Excellence Committee (2022–present), a member of the Department Graduate Committee (2007–2014) and a member of the Faculty Teaching Excellence Committee (2009–2012). Her research areas include the quality control and safety of botanicals and the study of natural products/medicinal plants as potential sources of lead compounds of novel therapeutics. She has published four books.
