Bernard Dell is an Emeritus Professor with broad expertise in sustainable food and fiber production, and environmental science. As Research Director, his international work for Murdoch University entailed forging strategic research partnerships with Asia, particularly with China and Vietnam. He retired in March 2021 but remains active in supporting early-career researchers in the region. Historical appointments at Murdoch University have included: Head of Plant Sciences (2004 – 2009); Director of Sustainable Ecosystems Research Institute (2009 – 2011); and Research Director (2011 - 2018). He is a Visiting Professor at the Chinese Academy of Forestry (since 2003) and Professor Emeritus at the Vietnamese Academy of Forest Sciences (since 2021). He was honored with the China Friendship Award in 2014. His research interests are Forestry and Agriculture.
