José Oliveira is an assistant professor of the Mathematics and Information Systems Group in the Faculty of Economics at the University of Porto and a researcher at the INESC Technology and Science. He graduated with a degree in Computer Science and received his Ph.D. in Science Engineering from the University of Porto. His areas of scientific activity are data science and business analytics. Presently, his research interests include times-series modeling and forecasting for retail using statistics, machine learning, deep learning, and big data. He has been involved in several European and national research projects with technological companies.
