Short Biography

Dr Belinda Lee is a Medical Oncologist at the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre & Northern Health, Medical Oncology Departments, and the Hemstritch Centenary Research Fellow at the Walter & Eliza Hall Institute of Medical Research (WEHI). She completed her MBBS at Imperial College, University of London and her MRCP (UK); MRCP (MedOnc;London); PGDip (Onc; Institute of Cancer Research, Uni of London); FRACP (Australia). Dr Lee’s primary research interest is to improve outcomes for pancreatic cancer patients. She established the PURPLE Pancreatic cancer Translational Registry in 2016. This highly collaborative clinical database links >48 cancer centres across Australia, Singapore and New Zealand to support clinical and translational research in pancreatic cancer. She is the co-chair and coordinating CI of the multi-centre DYNAMIC-Pancreas clinical trial in circulating tumour DNA, and the DIRECT/InspIRE (Australia) registry-based clinical trial. She is the Cancer Services Research Lead and Head of Cancer Clinical Trials at Northern Health and a member of the Biogrid Scientific Advisory Committee, the Victorian Comprehensive Cancer Centre (VCCC) Registry-based Trials Steering Committee and the Victorian Pancreas Summit working group.
