Yuan-Kang Wu is a professor at the Department of Electrical Engineering at National Chung-Cheng University, Taiwan. He received a Ph.D. degree in electronic and electrical engineering from the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, UK, in 2004. He was a researcher at the Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI), Hsinchu, Taiwan, and an engineer at the Taiwan Electric Research and Testing Center (TERTEC), Taiwan. His research areas are wind turbine modeling, wind and solar power systems, offshore wind farm planning, renewable energy forecasting techniques, power system control and management, distributed generation, and smart grid control.
