Prof.
Guo-Ping Zhan graduated from the Department of
Plant Protection at China Agricultural University in 1988. He is currently a
research scientist at the Chinese Academy of Inspection and Quarantine. His
expertise lies in phytosanitary treatment and equipment, with a particular
focus on irradiation technology.
Prof. Zhan leads a Chinese National K&D Project titled
"Research on Formulating International Standards for Quality Control and
Classification of Agricultural and Food Products." From 2006 to 2021, he
successfully completed four other national K&D projects. He has also
concluded a coordinated research project with the International Atomic Energy
Agency (IAEA) and is currently involved in another IAEA program.
In addition to his research, Prof. Zhan is actively engaged
with the International Standards on Phytosanitary Measures (ISPM). As the chief
investigator, he has developed four IPPC Phytosanitary Treatment (PT)
standards. He is a member of the Technical Panel on Phytosanitary Treatments
and serves as a reviewer for journals such as Insects and Radiation Physics and Chemistry.
