Dr. Valentyn Oksenych is currently a Norwegian researcher at the University of Bergen, Bergen, Norway. He graduated from the University of Strasbourg's Institute of Genetics and Molecular and Cellular Biology (IGBMC) in 2009. He was a postdoctoral fellow at Harvard University from 2010 to 2014 and at the University of Copenhagen from 2014 to 2015. In 2017, he was awarded a research grant by the Norwegian Cancer Society for his studies in cell responses to DNA damage and the significance this has for cancer and developmental disorders in the nervous system. Overall, he has obtained a dozen grants in Norway, Denmark, Sweden, and France to support his externally-funded research group in Triondheim (2016-2022). He came to NTNU as a participant in the Star Program 2017–2021 in connection with the Research Council of Norway Young Talent Grant. Furthermore, since 2020, he has been employed as a researcher at the Universities of Oslo and Bergen, as well as an invited lecturer at Stavanger. His research topics mainly include DNA repair in cells, B cell development, and DNA damage response.
