Yingchao Zhang is currently a professor at the College of Automotive Engineering, Jilin University, Jilin, China. He graduated from Jilin University in 2002 with a degree in Industrial Design and completed Master’s and Ph.D. degrees from Jilin University, China, in 2006 and 2010, respectively, in Auto-body Engineering and Vehicle Engineering. He finished his postdoctoral research at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. After graduating from Jilin University, he became a teaching assistant in the Department of Auto-body Engineering at Jilin University, China, in 2002. He was then subsequently promoted to Assistant Professor, then Associate Professor, and finally Professor in 2016. He has been the director of the Jilin University PACE Centre since 2010, now changed to the IDEEA Centre, and an associate head of the Auto-body Engineering Department since 2020. He is also a professor at the State Key Laboratory of Automotive Simulation and Control, Jilin University. He is a member of the Youth Work Committee of the China Society of Automotive Engineers and the Automotive Aerodynamics Branch of the China Society of Automotive Engineers.
