Felix Garcia-Torres received the master and phD. degree in electrical engineering from University of Seville, Spain in 2004 and 2015, respectively.
He joined the Centro Nacional del Hidrogeno (Spain) in 2009 where he currently works as responsible of the Microgrid Laboratory in the Application Unit. Prior to this, he was working in several research centers or companies such as the Instituto de Automatica Industrial-Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Cientificas (Spain), the University of Seville spin-off GreenPower Technologies (Spain) and the Université Catholique de l'Ouest (Angers, France).
His current research interests are advanced power electronics and control to introduce energy storage technologies in the smart grid.
Dr. Felix Garcia-Torres is co-author
of the book Model Predictive Control of Microgrids published by
Springer-Verlag, Cham, Switzerland, in 2020. He is currently the main researcher of Interreg SUDOE IMPROVEMENT project (www.improvement-sudoe.eu).
