Ken Salazar

Kenneth Lee Salazar (born March 2, 1955)[1] is an American politician. He is the United States Ambassador to Mexico since September 14, 2021.
Salazar was a member of the United States Senate from Colorado from 2005 until being appointed as the United States Secretary of the Interior in 2008 by President Barack Obama.[2] Salazar officially became secretary in 2009. He resigned as secretary in 2013. Salazar is a Democrat.
Before being elected to the U.S. Senate, Salazar was the Colorado Attorney General from 1999 until 2005.
In May 2021, President Joe Biden nominated Salazar as the Ambassador to Mexico.[3][4][5] His nomination was confirmed by the United States Senate on August 11, 2021.[6]
Salazar was born in Alamosa, Colorado. He studied at Colorado College and at the University of Michigan.
