- I think "somewhat" is a too complicated word. And "deep" as an adjective for "culture" needs, well, a deep knowledge of English to be understood.

... had written that the vegetation of Brazil's south is an example of "vegetation of hot areas"? One thing is a text written using simple words - another thing, completely different, is an awful geographical mistake!! Luckily someone has corrected that error!!!
