I suggest avoiding user page edits like this one. I can understand QD/RFD tagging to user pages, but these edits are not urgently needed. If you think an update is needed, please consider making suggestions to the user page owner. MathXplore (talk) 11:59, 11 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

ok Cactus🌵 spiky ouch 11:59, 11 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

A user that you recently welcomed is now CU-blocked and locked. I suggest you read w:Wikipedia:Welcoming_committee#Welcoming_etiquette and carefully choose who you are going to welcome in the future. MathXplore (talk) 12:02, 11 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I thought his changes were genuine. I will closely investigate next time. Thanks Cactus🌵 spiky ouch 12:07, 11 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Clearing VIPs

I suggest you allow that to our admins. Other non-admins who did that were usually warned. MathXplore (talk) 00:34, 13 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, I saw others doing it so I thought I could. Sorry Cactus🌵 spiky ouch 00:35, 13 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, there is no need to add {{blocked user}} to a blocked user's user page, especially if the user didn't have a user page before or if the user page is innocuous. — *Fehufangą✉ Talk page 04:24, 13 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, thanks for the information Cactus🌵 spiky ouch 04:25, 13 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Unblock requests

Hi, Cactus. I noticed that you removed an unblock request from a user talk page. You were right that the request was not appropriate, but please leave unblock requests for the admins to handle. A couple of reasons for this are:

  • If an admin sees the bad request, they can decide whether to block access to the talk page. If you remove the request, admins might not see that talk page access should be removed.
  • When someone who is not an admin removes an unblock request, that can be seen as interfering with the user's communication with admins (even though it's bad communication). In general, it's better to avoid doing any kind of maintenance on someone else's user or user talk page.

Thanks. -- Auntof6 (talk) 08:56, 13 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Not simple article about a lemur

Thank you for changing Wikipedia. We welcome all changes, but we can have only changes that are in simple English, and your new changes to "Raffles' banded langur" were not simple. Please see Wikipedia:How to write Simple English pages so you can write more simply in the future. Thank you.

Did you make any attempt to simplify this article? If this is what people wanted, they could just go to the English Wikipedia article. Or to ChatGPT, because that seems to be where you got most of the text from. 2601:644:9083:5730:E518:F4F5:F71B:6C1E (talk) 18:27, 14 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

These are also not simple: Imperial Oil and Sturm, Ruger & Co., maybe other articles you've created. 2601:644:9083:5730:E518:F4F5:F71B:6C1E (talk) 18:31, 14 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia translation of the week: 2024-29

The winner this Translation of the week is

Please be bold and help translate this article!

Adumu, is a type of dance that the Maasai people of Kenya and Tanzania practice. Young Maasai warriors generally perform the energetic and acrobatic dance at ceremonial occasions including weddings, religious rites, and other significant cultural events. The Adumu dance is characterized by a sequence of jumps performed by the dancers, who stand in a circle and alternately jump while keeping their bodies as straight and upright as possible. In addition to wearing vividly colored shúkàs (clothes) and beaded jewelry, the dancers are typically clad in traditional Maasai costume. Traditional Maasai songs and chants are also performed during the dance.

Marking posts as resolved/done/notdone

Hi Cactusisme, We don't generally mark posts as resolved/done/notdone - Plenty of admins watch WP:Simple talk and will action things that need to be actioned, Thanks, –Davey2010Talk 11:20, 17 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Oh okay Cactus🌵 spiky ouch 11:23, 17 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

marking resolutions

Please stop marking things as done, resolved, on hold, etc. on Simple talk and other administrative pages. You can't know if someone will have something else to say in a discussion. The only place an individual editor can determine that is on their own talk page. Thanks. -- Auntof6 (talk) 11:34, 17 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I deleted them Cactus🌵 spiky ouch 11:35, 17 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
