      A Woodbury County Jail inmate was hospitalized overnight Thursday after a brutal attack by another inmate who now faces a charge of attempted murder. The inmate is charged with repeatedly punching the victim, putting him in a choke hold and stomping on his head during an incident that lasted approximately 12 minutes.

      Self, 24, and Sarah Zoelle, 31, had been arguing throughout the day at their home at 3319 Nebraska St. She was on the phone with a 911 operator reporting the domestic disturbance when Self fired a single shot from a few feet away that struck her in the abdomen.

       Sioux City man was arrested Thursday on suspicion of barging into an apartment and threatening to kill the occupants with a knife.       A Sioux City woman convicted of 52 counts of voter fraud is asking a federal appeals court to overturn her conviction and acquit her.
