Washington, DC—Today, Congressman Tom Suozzi (D-NY) announced that the House has advanced bipartisan legislation that he is co-leading with Congressman Dale Strong (R-AL), H.R. 9668, the SHIELD Against CCP Act, to counter threats from the Chinese Communist Party and defend American interests. The legislation is expected to pass when the House of Representatives reconvenes after the November election.

Washington, DC – Today, Congressman Tom Suozzi (D-NY) announced passage of bipartisan, bicameral legislation to protect America’s border and combat transnational criminal organizations.

Congressman Suozzi and Congressman Clay Higgins (R-LA) authored the House companion bill to S. 4698, the DHS Joint Task Forces Reauthorization Act. The bill, which passed through the House yesterday with a bipartisan vote, now heads to the President’s desk to be signed into law.

WASHINGTON – Donald Trump vowed Tuesday to “get SALT back” - an apparent reference to lifting the $10,000 cap on state and local tax deductions that he signed into law as president – in a post met with skepticism by New York Democrats.

The Republican presidential nominee and former president included the reference to the SALT cap on a TruthSocial post about his appearance Wednesday evening at the Nassau Coliseum in Uniondale.

 Washington, DC - Today, Congressman Tom Suozzi's (D-NY03) bipartisan legislation to protect the southern border and reauthorize the Joint Task Forces of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) passed by unanimous vote in the House Committee on Homeland Security. The bipartisan bill, H.R. 9460, reauthorizes DHS to establish joint operations using DHS personnel and resources to secure U.S. land and maritime borders, address homeland security threats, and establish regional operations to tackle ongoing homeland security challenges like drug smuggling and trafficking.

Glen Cove, NY - On Tuesday, outside the Glen Cove Police Department, Congressman Tom Suozzi (D - Long Island, Queens) hosted his annual “Hometown Heroes” event, where he honored and thanked 10 law enforcement officers from across New York’s 3rd Congressional District who displayed exemplary heroism in the line of duty in service to our communities. During the ceremony, Suozzi shared how the exceptional work of each officer saved the lives of New Yorkers.

The New York State Department of Health will conduct a new and expanded health study in Bethpage, more than a decade after an analysis found cancer rates surrounding Grumman’s toxic dumping ground did not surpass expected levels.

The agency announced Monday it will carry out a retrospective observational evaluation that pores over updated data from the New York State Cancer Registry over the next six months. Answering calls from elected officials, the new study will expand the geographic area targeted in a 2013 report and report on trends in cancer rates over time.

We've been down this runway before. 

Six years ago, when residents of North Shore neighborhoods complained of aircraft noise due to the Kennedy Airport flight patterns, Rep. Tom Suozzi worked with the Federal Aviation Administration and air traffic control personnel to develop new regulations that would reduce noise and improve his constituents' quality of life. 

Now, he and other local elected officials are right back in the same flight pattern.
