No | rather not | I dunno | I guess | Sure | Yes | FUCK yes | Oh god you don’t even know |

with the caveat that this is one I’m really picky about and it’s either really good or really bad. because sometimes people will approach it in a way that really treats it as more of a pregnancy kink or invokes similarly dysphoria-triggering tropes and that is a Big No from me for obvious reasons, but when that doesn’t happen? yes absolutely love it. there are so many directions to take it and so many of them are great. I can’t really explain why I’m such a fan except that I love fantastical xeno bullshit in general.

we could probably psychoanalyze my random ass assortment of kinks all day but the point is I'm having a great time

I think it’s really important, for non-Vancouverites, that you know some additional layers of the joke to this, because this shit’s got history:

  • One of our parks has an abstract statue in it of someone reclining.
  • In Nov 2012, an artist made a sign as a joke, “Dude Chilling Park”, which looked exactly like our official Parks Board signs (except for the official park boards seal).
  • The Vancouver Parks Board removed the sign but, after a whole lot of petitions, they put in an official one a year and a half later, also “Dude Chilling Park”, but now with the proper seal attached.
  •  Fast forward 7 years later. We have horrible floods. A barge washes up on Sunset Beach and gets grounded there. It has yet to be removed.
  • The Vancouver Parks Board, unprompted, adds a “Barge Chilling Beach” sign.
  • …Also, they announced this by tweet:

my little brother came into my room last night to tell me that he was gonna sew a stack of my mom’s saltine crackers together through the little holes and then left again

wintermutal

i ended up distracting my parents so he could put the crackers back in the little sleeve like hed only taken one from the top. i dont know if anybodys found them yet but i talked to him about it later and it turns out that theyre sewn together TIGHTLY. like. the ENTIRE stack through ALL the holes

wintermutal

it has been three days and my mom has still not discovered the sewed together cracker stack in the box in the cupboard

ilivebetweenjohnsthighs

I’m DESPERATE to see the sewn crackers

i have no idea how he accomplished this

there seems to be some confusion on how old my little brother is. my little brother is 19, one year younger than me, and is an undergrad in uni. he just likes to cause problems on purpose

wintermutal

it has been a month and two weeks since i made this post and i opened the cupboard today and noticed that the crackers were opened and a bunch had been carefully slid off the threads. i went over to my brother and was like ‘dude holy shit did she find them???’ and he was like ‘i dont know!!!’. cue my mom coming back down the steps wanting to know what we were saying about her. we had to tell her, and apparently this was what happened:

a week or so before, my dad, who is an EXTREMELY smart and well-read guy, found the crackers and assumed they were a manufacturing defect. like he told my mom that he thought it was interesting how the machines using thread to line up the crackers for the sleeves forgot to cut the thread before they went in the sleeve for the box. my mom was like ‘idk……i think i sense some shenanigans…..i dont know from who or how but theres some shenanigans going on in this house’ and he was like ‘no really thats so interesting how they must use thread to do stuff at the cracker factory’. he didn’t take the sleeve out before opening them up, and therefore didnt see the tape closing up the other side. when he came downstairs my brother took the sleeve out and showed him, and he was mildly surprised, like ‘huh i just assumed thats how they made the crackers lol’ and he just went on with his life. the cracker saga has been consuming me for the past month and after all that this was how it ended. idk what i expected but at the same time somehow this was a fitting end

I had not seen the ending and it’s THE BEST

Actually the fact that Padmé and Palpatine have the largest wardrobes in starwars to signify their Naboo heritage,

makes me wonder how the Naboo reacted to the Emperor suddenly not presenting himself “appropriately” (wearing that dingy black robe).

Considering how conservative Naboo is and how important class signifiers seem to be. Like his popularity is effected more by the fact the emperor is an outfit repeater than his actual politics.

stagbeetleboy

He shows up to two senate meetings in that same robe and the Naboo collectively decide he’s making them look bad. Not bc of the fascism no that’s fine it’s bc he’s making them look poor.

Classism and xenophobia are aspects of Naboo that gets overshadowed by Padmé being starwar’s main representative of them.

phoenixyfriend

I remember a fic where Palpatine got arrested, as Chancellor, by Naboo, for violating sumptuary laws by appearing in the same black robes twice in calls to Dooku. They couldn't get him on the content of the conversation since the audio was damaged, but they COULD get him on the wardrobe.

Unfortunately, I cannot find it, and I fear it's been deleted.

Very fun, though I’m mostly in it for the artsy shibari side of things.

one of many reasons I love living alone honestly sometimes you're like 'I do not want to get all the way out of this elaborate chest harness however I could really go for a granola bar' and you can just go to the kitchen anyway
