Instead, they have to wait in endless lines for some polluted water, fend off insects and endure the unbearable heat in the tent. Not only that, but our children and newborns live in an unhealthy hazardous environment due to the piles of waste and filthy sewage water surrounding them leading to the spread of disease including all types of skin rash and bacterial and viral infections.

‏what makes it even worse is the shortage, if not total absence, of medical care, medicines, and hygiene pruducts.

‏ Desdpite everything, my family have been trying to maintain some semblance of normalcy for the children's sake. Some teachers in the camp set up a tent to help kids learn and forget their daily struggle, so my brother and sister have been taking my nephews and nieces there. It's not perfect but it made the little ones really happy. It is literally an ordeal to provide ingredients and even cook food every day. However, my family have been doing their best to make some treats for the children and also get them some stationery but it costs a fortune to buy the most basic items now in Gaza if they are ever available.

‏My family's day to day expenses keep increasing due to the blockade and skyrocketing prices. It cost them a packet (300 euros) to only buy the smallest gas bottle which they couldn't believe they could find in the first place. They have been using it sparingly since it's considered some type of luxury now. After losing my job and due to my own struggles in Germany, I haven't been able to provide for them as I used to so I was forced to send them donation money meant for their evacuation which does not seem very likely at the moment. That's why a great amount of the funds has been exhausted to help my family pay for their ever rising daily expenditures, and I had no choice but to increase the goal of the fundraiser from the thankfully raised €70000 to €100000.

‏cannot begin to imagine what would've become of everyone if it weren't for your generous support. Words fail to descibe how grateful I am to all of you. I sincerely wish I didn't have to but I have no other option but to ask for your help again. Not an ordinary cucumber! This cucumber was smuggled with one of the truck drivers from the south of the Gaza Strip to the city of Azza. I was lucky to get it as a valuable gift from my husband’s friend. Then I decided to give it to my mother, who kept it for a day and then sent it to my sister, who divided it into two halves. Half I made a salad with and the other half I shared. With her neighbor. One smuggled cucumber was happily eaten by 15 people. URGENT: Save Wafaa's Family in Gaza

Hi all, I cannot express the depth of sorrow and panic Wafaa (@wafans-blog) is feeling all afternoon seeing the donations that had been so generous and forthcoming this morning slowly trickle down to nothing. Earlier if not for @turian's reblog observing that there has been 40 minutes without donations, the stagnation would have lasted god knows how long.

Originally when setting up the gofundme page for Shaima and Muhammad (verified by @/el-shab-hussein on vetted spreadsheet as family number 260), Wafaa said this to me, I remember it clearly, "Can we talk about the joy? Days before the war, they were living their lives and building their dreams. I don't want to diminish that because of what has happened. I want to post about my family's happiness."

But clearly as we have seen in Wafaa's fundraiser for her own children and for her sister and brother, only posts about what trauma or illness had befallen the children of the family conveyed the urgent need for help. I feel torn because this feels like exploiting a family's pain in order to trade for their survival.

When Wafaa had said this statement about joy to me, she had also told me that her family were at ground zero of the al-Mawasi camp massacre (which happened on July 13, and where the family is STILL LIVING), with more than 100 martyrs. Without exaggeration, there were 3 full days of constant bombardment from multiple warplanes overhead, and drones with machine guns that would fire at anything that moved.

Miraculously and thankfully, Muhammad and Shaima's families emerged mostly unscathed. Muhammad and Ahmed, Muhammad's eldest son, had once during the 3 days ventured out quickly to search for water and weeds to feed the younger children's stomach and they were shot at by the iof in the hand and legs. Muhammad in their video call yesterday thankfully told Wafaa both him and his son's injuries have healed fine with no further infections.

Wafaa did not want to share this, but she told me earlier this afternoon that I had her permission to post this for you all. Wafaa had only wanted to maintain her family's dignity in this time, but unfortunately for her this demonstrated help will only come when her family proves to you their tangible and visceral suffering.

I have run out of words to convey how urgently we need to at least save the 10 children in this family. So far we have raised funds for 6 of the 10. Please continue in raising funds so that we can evacuate Zeina and her 3 older brothers as well.
