Auxin

Auxin is an alien Space Knight from the IDW portion of the Generation 1 continuity family.

Young, cocky, and impetuous, Auxin has a lot to learn before he can truly become a Space Knight in the service of the Solstar Order. His youthful energy wouldn't be so bad if he weren't also a loudmouthed braggart more interested in scoring kills than protecting the citizens of the Order and his fellow Knights.

Don't even get him started on that mechanical Space Knight the Order keeps around. One of these days that Cybertronian might get someone killed...

Fiction

2005 IDW continuity

Auxin and his fellow cadet Sata accompanied Rom and Livia to Mining Colony 25-6-41 in response to reports of a Dire Wraith infestation. Using their Energy Analyzers, the Knights realized that the colony was compromised by numerous Dire Wraiths, sparking a battle between the two factions. Hoping to score his first kill, Auxin pursued a straggler into an alleyway... only to learn that his quarry had lured him into an ambush. Auxin was rescued by Stardrive, who had arrived a week earlier to stake out the planetoid. Auxin, however, was furious with her for "stealing" his first kill.

With Stardrive in tow, the Knights then set course for the fringes of Solstar space for their next mission: meeting with the Galactic Council at Orchid Crossing to discuss the threat of Wraith encroachment on Council territory. Auxin and Stata continued to snipe at Stardrive as they arrived at the station. The next morning, the five Knights made contact with the Council embassy–only to learn that they had been lured into a trap by a Dire Wraiths-Decepticon alliance. Within seconds, Auxin was blown in half by Astrotrain, who had disguised himself as a Council shuttle. Shining Armor #1

• In keeping with Rom's name being derived from read-only memory, Stardrive's fellow cadets also have names taken from computer terminology. Auxin is a punny name derived from "aux-in" electrical connectors.
