And the people that you knew at Elaine's

Big Shot (also Topshot) is the leader of the Battle Patrol, and he likes to think inside the box. A dutiful soldier, he will follow every order to the letter, and makes sure his patrol gives their all for the cause. Beyond that, however, he refuses to carry any operation a step further than he was authorized to by a commanding officer. This makes him efficient and reliable, but since it seems like every other Micromaster is a hothead who doesn't play by the rules, it also makes him a bit of an outsider.[1] Luckily, he comes equipped with a gun as long as his entire superstructure. Takes the edge off.

And now it's time for Big Shot, the show about fugitives!

On Cybertron, Emirate Xaaron's resistance cell received word that the Decepticons were experimenting with a new "secret weapon". He sent in Big Shot and the Battle Patrol, part of their new Micromaster warriors, to investigate. Little did the Autobots realize the "secret weapon" was a ruse; the Decepticons needed to lure some Micromasters to them in order to duplicate the technology. Facing certain capture, Big Shot prepared to follow orders and activate the suicide button built into his team, destroying them before the Decepticons could loot their circuitry for the secrets of the Micromaster process. He couldn't do it, however, and chose to go down fighting as an Autobot warrior should. Thunderwing easily bested the lot of them unfortunately, and began reverse engineering the technology housed within their bodies via vivisection.

When Roadhandler and his crew of Micromasters were sent after the Battle Patrol to eliminate any chance of the Decepticons building their own Micromasters, they too chose to defy orders and rescued Big Shot and the others before making their escape. A Small War!

During the War of the Threefold Spark, Topshot served under Strika as part of her elite artillery unit. When the Ascenticons rebranded themselves "Decepticons" before dropping all pretenses and capturing the Senate, Topshot and fellow veteran Flak joined Kup's ad-hoc artillery unit and launched a barrage on the building. While providing cover fire for Ironhide's team, Sunrunner marked Clench. The rest of their unit concentrated fire on his position and killed the Decepticon. After the Autobots retreated to Crystal City, it eventually came under siege by Strika and the Decepticon army. • Battle Patrol (Micromaster Patrol, 1989)
Released in the sixth year of the original The Transformers toyline (fifth in European markets), Micromaster Big Shot transforms into a brown and beige Denel G-6 self-propelled gun. While the front and rear wheels of the vehicle roll, the middle set are merely sculpted and do not roll (being his shoulder joints). The turret rotates 360 degrees and the cannon can pivot up and down. In robot mode, his cannon can act as a sort of tripod for additional stability.
He was only available as part of a complete breakfa—uh, part of the Battle Patrol, along with his teammates Flak, Sidetrack, and Sunrunner. Big Shot is gang-molded with Sidetrack, thus the two toys share the same plastic colors.
Big Shot was redecoed into Gunlift in Japan.

  • TakaraTomy ID number: SG-09
  • TakaraTomy release date: March 30, 2019
Part of the first wave of Siege Micromasters, "Autobot Topshot" (name change presumably for trademark reasons) transforms from a robot into a Cybertronic-ish self-propelled gun, albeit with a much shorter gun barrel than his original toy. He can also combine with his pack-in teammate Flak to form the "Electroverge Neuro Blaster". As a part of the C.O.M.B.A.T. System, their weapon mode can be attached to any toy with a 5 mm post-hole. "Fire Blasts" can also be attached to their barrels. In an undocumented feature, while in robot mode his gun can be rotated and flipped down over his head.
His head can be rotated around so that his face isn't visible while he's forming the Electroverge Neuro Blaster with Flak, but between the paint on it and how small the part is, this can be fairly difficult to actually do without using a tool. Some copies are so tight that it may not be possible even with a tool. Exercise caution while handling the turret body: the coating is somewhat thin, which results in chipping if not handled properly. His legs also have a tendency to pop off during transformation due the his waist swivel being much tighter than what the ball joints can handle, and repeated detachment has been noted to warp the sockets and make this problem worse.
When initially revealed at SDCC 2018, this figure was labeled "Bigshot", but the final packaging goes with "Topshot".
Though designated for release in the first quarter of 2019, Topshot's wave reached U.S. store shelves in late 2018.
This mold was also used to make Fireline, and retooled to make Red Heat and Wheel Blaze.
