Point of this category?

This feels like a really dated holdover from 2000s TFWiki and a lot of the pages listed here here are not actually MacGuffins because they're actually important to the plot beyond instigating it. Saix (talk) 18:22, 29 January 2021 (EST)

Missing MacGuffins

Maybe I don't fully understand what is a MacGuffin and what is otherwise important to the plot, but it seems there are some key missing items from this list, such as the Matrix of Leadership, the Key to Vector Sigma, the Golden Disk(s) and the AllSpark from BayVerse/Animated/Aligned continuities. Just wondering why those such major item in the fandom are not tagged as MacGuffins.--Skrollex (talk) 20:26, 5 December 2023 (EST)

Per the description on the page, "A MacGuffin is an object or idea which adds no depth to a story but is nonetheless responsible for moving the narrative along from one point to another." All those things you listed have major significance to their narratives beyond just "we need to get the thing". Heck, there's probably at least a few listed on the page now that probably shouldn't be there. -- Cyberlink420 (talk) 21:34, 5 December 2023 (EST)
