DMX

Earl Simmons, alias DMX (December 18, 1970 – April 9, 2021), was an American rapper and actor. He first released his first two albums, It's Dark and Hell Is Hot and Flesh of My Flesh, Blood of My Blood both in 1998. The following year in 1999, his third album ... And Then There Was X was his most commercially successful release to date which featured the signature track, "Party Up (Up in Here)". In 2003, his success later continued with two well-known tracks, "Where the Hood At?" and "X Gon' Give It to Ya", which were packaged together for his fifth album, Grand Champ. Outside of his music career, he ventured into acting where he then starred in films Romeo Must Die, Exit Wounds, and Cradle 2 the Grave. All of which was directed by Andrzej Bartkowiak and released by Warner Bros. Pictures in the early 2000s. Despite a successful career in music, the rapper had frequent encounters with the law and legal issues, that had him being in jail thirty times.

A remix of the track "Ruff Ryders' Anthem" from his first album, was used for the second trailer of the 2023 film, Rise of the Beasts.

At the age of 50, DMX passed away due to a cocaine-induced heart attack after being found unresponsive seven days prior.
