I don't have time to boogie... okay, maybe for a minute.

Dropshot feels no pain. Dropshot never gives up. Dropshot always gets back on the horse. Dropshot needs no time-out. Dropshot takes no vacations. Dropshot doesn't have time to bleed leak. Dropshot fights on.

Dropshot is a member of the Military Patrol, and, predictably, wants to replace Bombshock as leader.[1]

Dropshot was once an entirely biological inhabitant of Gorlam Prime. As part of Nova Prime and Jhiaxus's plans for the Expansion, the inhabitants of this world rapidly "evolved" from biological beings to technological beings to allow them to survive the harsh reality that would result from the merging of the Dead and Living universes. Dropshot, now a fully technological being, was of the legions of Dead Universe Micromasters who pursued Hardhead and Nightbeat when they snooped around on Gorlam Prime. Spotlight: Hardhead

So this is what genuine surprise is like!

Another Dropshot was a full-sized Decepticon. Dropshot infiltrated the American military forces early on in the Decepticon offensive, posing as one of their artillery vehicles. His mission was to monitor the military and report back all he heard to Megatron. Through him, Megatron learned of Spike Witwicky's infiltration mission and the European Union's nuclear strike. All Hail Megatron #5 When the Autobots eventually returned to Earth, Dropshot was finally unleashed. He transformed and turned his firepower against his "hosts". All Hail Megatron #11

A bit wound-up after having to sit and spy on the humans for so long, Dropshot eagerly attacked them. Shrugging off the humans' attempts to fight back, Dropshot asked aloud who could possibly stop him at this point. As if on cue, Kup emerged from the water behind him, having been dropped into the river by Skywarp earlier.

After Dropshot was defeated, Kup and Colonel Witwicky sat on his remains to have a nice conversation. All Hail Megatron #12

The Transformers

Time to start working on those quadriceps, Dropshot.
  • Military Patrol (Micromaster Patrol, 1990)
Released in the seventh and final year of the original Transformers toyline in the US (sixth in European/Australasian markets), Micromaster Dropshot is a tiny robot that transforms into a tiny blue armored personnel carrier of made-up origin, armed with a rotating (non-firing) twin cannon.
He was available only in a four-pack with his teammates Bombshock, Growl, and Tracer.

  • Military Team (Micro Transformer team, 1991)
  • ID number: C-363
  • Accessories: Micro Trailer #3
Dropshot was also released in Takara's Fight! Super Robot Lifeform Transformers line, during the Return of Convoy portion of the line. While the toy had no notable physical changes from the Hasbro release, like all Return of Convoy Micromasters, he was marketed as an Autobot instead of a Decepticon.
Like the Hasbro toy, he was only available in a complete set with his teammates, but this release included Micro Trailer #3.

Universe (2008)

I'm a conundrum wrapped in missile launchers.
  • Decepticon Dropshot (Voyager, 2008)
Part of the second wave of Universe Voyagers, "Decepticon Dropshot" is a redeco of Cybertron Cybertron Defense Scattorshot, transforming into a multiple-launch rocket system which kinda resembles a TOS-1 Buratino. The halves of the (non-firing) launcher end up on his arms in robot mode. In either mode, inserting a Cyber Key in each half reveals a new weapon: the right side has a slide-out double spring-loaded missile launcher which ends up on his left robot arm, while the left has a flip-out non-firing blaster barrel which ends up on his right robot arm. Both key-activated weapons feature fake handles which end up being "held" by his hands in robot mode, although the missile launcher on his right arm needs to be slid forward for him to be able to reach the deployed blaster's handle. He also comes with an extra long brown hand-held rifle that can be mounted in tank mode thanks to his Mini-Con-compatible Powerlinx plugs.
His box photo shows an opaque-brown Earth Key with tan paint. The toy actually comes with an entirely unpainted transparent-brown Earth Key.
This mold was also used to make Universe Overload and Timelines Flak.
