"This bag of bones has a date with Unicron, men! Our job is to arrange the meeting!"

The ancient and highly advanced Fossilized Osteo-Skeletal Shield Integration Loadout Technology—or F.O.S.S.I.L. Technology for short—unleashes the primal power of the beasts. Sentient Fossilizer bots, infused with primordial energy, break apart and weaponize their allies.

War for Cybertron: Kingdom

Deluxe Fossilizer Wingfinger

In addition to various characters drawn from the Beast Wars cartoon, the Kingdom toyline included several original characters that convert into skeletal prehistoric beasts—the Fossilizers. As a successor to the Siege C.O.M.B.A.T. System (with its Weaponizers) and the Earthrise A.I.R. Lock System (with its Modulators), the F.O.S.S.I.L. Technology employed by Deluxe Fossilizers allows them to be disassembled and reconnected into multiple weapons and armor using 5 mm post hardpoints, or rebuilt to form Fossilizer Combiners. The Core Class Vertebreak/Dracodon mold has a more traditional transformation, but still includes a 5 mm-compatible tail/weapon.

Notes

Unknown fossilizers.jpg
  • The Fossilizers may have been inspired by the scene in "Beast Wars (Part 1)" where the DNA scanner is depicted scanning buried fossils to generate beast modes for the likes of Megatron.
  • Although Vertebreak and Dracodon don't completely disassemble in the same way as the others, designer Mark Maher—when revealing Dracodon—referred to him as a Fossilizer, indicating that they are considered one and the same.[1]
  • Hasbro PulseCon 2020's promotional poster for the Kingdom line features two unnamed Fossilizers (a Smilodon and a crocodilian of some kind) that served as concepts, but ultimately were not made into toys.
  • Like with previous lines, Kingdom also assigned code names, at least for the Fossilizers:
  • Dracodon: "Autobot Fossil"
  • Paleotrex: "Trex Bone"
  • Ractonite: "Cat Bone"
  • Vertebreak: "Decepticon Fossil"
  • Wingfinger: "New Bone"
  • Wingfinger is the only deluxe class Fossilizer that has not been retooled or redecoed.
  • One concept sketch for a movie-universe Spittor, made by Eddie Del Rio for Rise of the Beasts describes him as a Fossiziler. It is unknown what exactly that entails in that context.

Foreign names

  • Japanese: Fossilizer (フォッシライザー Fosshiraizā)
