Hammer (weapon)

Typically, Transformers use hammers as medical or construction tools, but they can also serve as effective hand-to-hand combat weapons ideal for breaking shields, punching through thick armor or shattering limbs. For similar weapons, see maces and flails.

The Magnus Hammer was the symbol of leadership carried by Ultra Magnus, Supreme Commander of the Autobots. Long ago, Solus Prime wielded the Forge as the Thirteen battled Unicron. One Shall Rise, Part 1 Before the Great War, it was kept in the Vaults of Iacon, but was hidden on Earth to keep it out of the wrong hands. Millions of years later, its location was decoded by the amnesiac Optimus Prime, but taken by Megatron who found that the weapon was powerless unless wielded by a Prime. - Autobot Ratchet (Deluxe Class, 2008)
- Ratchet transforms into a stylized ambulance and in robot mode features a veritable arsenal of fixit tools—including a hammer—that attach to his undeployed magnets to simulate him holding them. These tools can store in his backpack in robot mode, but cannot be stored in his vehicle mode.

- A Target-exclusive redeco of Deluxe Ratchet in a yellow and light gray with similarly redecoed tools.
- Roadbuster Ultra Magnus (Leader Class, 2009)
- A redeco based on Generation 1 Roadbuster's colours, this version of Ultra Magnus came with a similarly redecoed hammer, now labeled as a "Stormbringer".
- Wingblade Optimus Prime (Voyager Class, 2010)
- Wingblade Optimus Prime, as seen in "Endgame, Part II" came with the Magnus Hammer instead of his Axe, though this toy was ultimately only released in Japan.

Robots in Disguise
- Ultra Magnus (Voyager Class, 2012)
- Part of the fourth wave of Prime: Robots in Disguise Voyager Class toys, the Hasbro version of this larger-scale Magnus came with a massive artillery cannon that transforms into a "battle hammer", with its hammerhead illuminated by an LED.
- The TakaraTomy release, part of the ninth wave of Japanese Prime toys, instead came with his Arms Micron partner Ulma, who transforms into his hammer. The hammer can still be wielded two-handed, but doesn't make a particularly convincing artillery cannon.
- War Breakdown (June 30, 2012)
- Only available in the Japanese Prime line, the Voyager-sized "War Breakdown" came with his packed-in partner Zamu, who transforms into Breakdown's wrist-mounted hammer (though it actually attaches to the truck mode roof bit which flips up over his wrist, but it's a close enough approximation).
- The Debris Hammer is formed from Zamu (packaged with Voyager-sized War Breakdown) in hammer mode at one end, Igu (packaged with Deluxe-sized Jet Vehicon) forming the handle, and the first version of Gora (packaged with Deluxe-sized Megatron) forming a second hammerhead at the other end.
- A clear-red version of Zamu was given away as a campaign bonus with the purchase of 3000 yen's worth of Transformers at Japanese Toys"R"Us stores on July 28, 2012.
Beast Hunters
- Ultra Magnus (Voyager Class, 2013)
- Part of the third wave of Prime: Beast Hunters Voyager Class toys, Ultra Magnus is now a retool/redeco of the "Robots in Disguise" Voyager Class Optimus Prime toy. He came with a larger-scale "Forge of Solus Battle Hammer", which features a 5mm handle.
Platinum Edition

- Platinum Edition 'Thrilling 30' Ultra Magnus is a retool/redeco of the "Robots in Disguise" Weaponizer Class Optimus Prime toy that came with a different and even larger version of the "Forge of Solus Battle Hammer", which can only be held via two smaller 5mm handles on either end of the haft.

- Part of the third wave of Siege Battle Masters, Smashdown transforms from a robot mode inspired by the mythical Minotaur into the "Airquake Hammerclaw" weapon. In an undocumented feature, the hammer handle can be slotted into the inside of the left forearm (under his "main" arm) to give him a blaster rifle. Otherwise, the handle either sits unused... or stays awkwardly sticking out of his robot-mode butt as a very long tail.
- Smashdown comes with a "Fire Blast" effect part, which can be attached to the "face" of the hammer mode, to simulate smashing against objects. This effect can also be attached in reverse to small pegs on other figures in the line.
War for Cybertron: Earthrise

- Smashdown later received a package refresh in the first wave of Earthrise, one of a handful of Siege toys used to "bridge" the two lines. Because of this, he is, alongside Rung, the only Earthrise Battle Master not to transform into a shield. The two releases are identical outside of packaging.
- Like all Earthrise toys, the cardboard back of the Earthrise version of Smashdown's package includes an exclusive cut-out collectible piece of a larger star map. Unlike most larger toy size classes, this piece does not include a named location. Sadly, if you already bought Smashdown in Siege but you want to collect the whole Earthrise star map, you'll have to buy another one, or at least the package.

- Part of the Legacy Wreck N' Rule Collection, this version of "Prime Universe Bulkhead" is a redeco of the original figure in a "military camo" color scheme that gives him an even bigger resemblance to Age of Extinction Hound. In addition to his original accessories, Bulkhead now comes with a new hammer accessory resembling his arch-nemesis Breakdown's, and his translucent plastic is now a nearly opaque black. The new instructions show a way to stow both the hammer and machine gun together in the truck bed under the tarp, but you can't stow both them and the mace at the same time.
- All of the packs in the Wreck N' Rule Collection contain a piece of a buildable cardboard Wrecker hammer; Bulkhead comes with the "B" face of the hammer. The inner boxes are also designed to be stacked together to form a display mural.
- In the United States, Bulkhead was exclusively released in the Amazon Wreck N' Rule Collection, with Bulkhead being revealed fourth on May 12, 2022. Despite being originally slated for a November release, Bulkhead (along with Springer and Twin Twist) began shipping out in mid July 2022, ahead of the two two-packs that had been revealed before him.
