And when you're down here with us, YOU'LL FLOAT TOO!

After being injured on Chaar, Rodimus Prime experienced a vision in where he saw the physical form of It, which shattered, releasing a dark destructive presence that destroyed a sequence of ancient Cybertronians before fading to reveal the eerily-similar face of a Quintesson Judge, which also shattered. Five Faces of Darkness, Part 2

When the Hate Plague threatened to infect all life in the universe, Optimus Prime made a desperate mental trip into the Matrix in search of a cure. After speaking with Alpha Trion, Optimus Prime encountered It, which told him of the Matrix's previous exposure to the Hate Plague. At that time, a wise man was able to contain the plague's spores and seal them within a star, but no one person had enough wisdom to destroy the plague completely. Optimus Prime gambled that the accumulated wisdom contained within the Matrix itself would be enough, and released it, which indeed destroyed the Hate Plague. The Return of Optimus Prime, Part 2

Excuse me sir! Do you have Prince Albert in a can? You do? Well then you better let the poor guy out!

It was the ancient leader of the Quintessons, who invaded the planet that would become Cybertron, cyberforming it into a factory world and enslaving Primus, trapping him in Vector Sigma to give their products life. It would maintain control over Vector Sigma by wielding Primus's original shell, the first of the Quintessons to possess the Matrix. Finale

Beep Beep, Orion!

When Orion Pax bonded with the Matrix of Leadership, he witnessed a manifestation of It, which the Matrix's Mediator software explained was an echo of Cybertron's experience with the Hate Plague. War World: Prime

Notes

  • This robot was never named in fiction. The designation "It" comes from a cartoon episode script. Likewise, no origins (or any origins that we know of) existed for this character during the Generation 1 cartoon's run, though the character does bear a likeness to the face of "Death" found on Quintesson Judges. The Generations Selects Special Comic's final chapter was the first piece of fiction to establish a background for this character, making him the ancient leader of the Quintessons. Rather fitting, isn't It?
  • In this case, how do you spell the possessive form of "It"?

Foreign names

  • Japanese: It (イット Itto)
