Leonicus

Leonicus is a Transformer from the Beast Era of the Generation 1 continuity family.

Leonicus is the first of the ancient Covenant. While the Covenant do not recognize a leader, Leonicus is often thrust into the position due to his status as firstborn.

He transforms into a pneuma-lion.

When Primus created life out of the moon Protos, Leonicus was the first. The Covenant, Leonicus included, were to seclude themselves on Protos and observe the universe till Point Omega arose. They did so for eons, only with one false alarm when the Chronarchitect appeared in 2005 when Optimus Prime died.

During a day in his monotonous existence, Leonicus found himself before the Chronarchitect again; this time, the Time Walker gave Leonicus terrifying visions of the future if Shokaract continued unabated. He was implored by the god to "return to the beginning". To discuss this, Leonicus presided over a zemstvo and later assigned tasks to the various members of the Covenant. Two hundred years later, Leonicus had done little but observe the situation on Cybertron as Shokaract rose in power. Leonicus worried about Scorpius, who had yet to return from his task and of the fact that Point Omega was synonymous with "Shokaract" in their scriptures. Schism

Leonicus's musing was finally broken when Ariex informed him of Shokaract sending his Herald Catcalysm to search for the Dark Essence on Earth during the Beast Wars. Leonicus knew this was soon to be the fabled Point Omega and the Covenant used their personal transwarp abilities to travel to prehistoric Earth. Paradox They immediately jumped into battle with Shokaract, who had travelled back to personally ensure the existence of the Dark Essence. The Covenant were able to throw Shokaract off his balance, but the demigod was able to find sure footing and destroy several of the Covenant. Leonicus despaired, but continued to press ahead. He was soon faced with a resurrected Cataclysm.

Through a deception and sacrifice, Sandstorm, who was actually Scorpius, was able to bypass Shokaract's defenses and attack. Shokaract was now open to attack, and Leonicus ordered the remaining Covenant to battle Unicron's essence that occupied inside Shokaract's Matrix of Conquest. Taking the form of Primus, the Covenant were successful at defeating the Dark Essence and ending Point Omega. Terminus

Leonicus was one of the constellations that existed in the Cybertron night sky. According to one story read by Dion, Leonicus fought the ice demon. Leonicus's attempts at attack only produced more ice demons from the shards. Scorpius arrived and used his flame breath to melt the ice demons. Flames of Yesterday
