The Micromaster Combiner Metro Squad, led by Oiler, is dedicated to protecting the innocent potential victims of the Transformers' war. Their success ratio in this endeavor is impeccable, due in no small part to their well-known courage. When they're not shielding civilians, they're clearing battlefields of debris and Decepticon casualties. They will accept no rewards for their heroism; the knowledge that they helped in the battle against evil is enough. This enthusiasm, however, can be hampered by their tendency to get in each other's way.[1]

The squad consists of:

In Japan, the Metro Squad was split up between the Fire Tanker W Team and the Radar Hover W Team.

The Transformers

  • Metro Squad (Micromaster Combiner Squad, 1990)
The Metro Squad was sold as a carded pack of three vaguely urban-themed vehicles (if a hovercraft counts as "urban"), each of which splits into two robots. Any squad member can combine in vehicle mode with any other, or with any other Micromaster Combiner. The squad shares a common color palette of white, black, blue and yellow.

War for Cybertron: Siege

  • Autobots vs. Decepticons (Micromaster 10-pack, 2019)
    • ID number: WFC-S58
Siege Wheel Blaze is a redeco of Red Heat (himself a retool of Topshot) that transforms from a robot into a complete Cybertronian fire truck. Although Wheel Blaze doesn't combine with his traditional partner Roadburner, he can combine with his pack-in teammate Road Police to form the "Powershot Plasma Cannon" weapon for larger figures to hold.
Wheel Blaze was only available as part of a Target exclusive ten-pack of Micromasters, including the Autobots Ground Shaker, Irontread, Overair, Ricon, and Road-Police, and the Decepticons Cratermaker, Fireline, Nightflight, and Slyhopper.

War for Cybertron: Earthrise

  • Micron Micromasters (Galactic Odyssey Collection, 2021)
Released as part of the Encounter 2 set of the Earthrise Galactic Odyssey Collection, Roadburner and Fireguard are redecoes of Siege Power Punch and Direct-Hit respectively, combining into a "fire truck", according to the online description for the set. Their combined form can be inverted to form an over-the-shoulder cannon for a larger figure.
Due to Roadburner's traditional partner Wheel Blaze receiving a non-combining toy in Siege, Fireguard is conspicuously introduced to replace him. It is unclear whether Fireguard is officially intended as a new member of the team or not.
Roadburner and Fireguard are part of a six-pack exclusive to Amazon, bundled with fellow Autobot Windstorm, and Decepticons Runner, Motorhead, and Stingracer.
