The pyramid is a type of structure with four triangular sides converging to a point at the apex. They have been found in Egypt and Mexico.

Stealth and Goldbug flew to Egypt to investigate the mystery of the pyramids, discovering that there was Cybertronian influence in their construction. The interior of the pyramids was based on the same design principles as Autobot spaceship interiors, and they found a carving of an Autobot whose name contained 'Imus'. Jungle City was built in the vicinity of the Mayan pyramids in Central America. This area was special to Kicker and Misha, as it was where they first met.

The pyramids contained a large amount of energon, and so was inevitably attacked by the Decepticons. The Autobots and humans made a valiant effort to save them, but ultimately, Optimus Prime was forced to order their destruction. Crisis in Jungle City

Revenge of the Fallen film

The Great Pyramid of Giza was in fact a Star Harvester that was covered by humanity in stone. Devastator destroyed the covering stone of the top to reveal the harvester for The Fallen. In the battle that followed, Devastator was destroyed by a rail gun shot from the USS Kidd on top of the pyramid and Optimus Prime destroyed the Harvester, leaving the top of the pyramid severely damaged.
