He's an ugly little spud, isn't he?

Slimer is a really hungry ghost that causes trouble for the Ghostbusters.

Transformers/Ghostbusters

In IDW's Ghostbusters continuity, Slimer is not referred to by name, having been known as "the green ghost", "the Sedgewick ghost", and (briefly) "Kevin Jr." over the course of his apperances in the comics.

I think he can hear you, Ray.

Captured and kept under indefinite containment by the Ghostbusters for research purposes, the Sedgewick ghost was busy eating when a ghostly Starscream entered the top floor of the firehouse headquarters. Disgusted by the slovenly ghost's appearance and eating habits, Starscream attempted to put the creature out of its misery, but learned that his ghostly blasts were unable to penetrate the ghost's holding tank. I feel so funky.
A translucent soft-plastic figurine of Slimer is included with the Transformers Collaborative Ectotron toy.
He has a small 3mm peg-hole on his underside, which means he can be (awkwardly) attached to the end of Ectotron's neutrino wand accessory. He can also be attached to the peg on the side, which allows him to ride on top of the vehicle mode. This make him compatible with the Siege series "blast effect" pegs, if you're into that. Of course, his being soft-plastic means he's flexible enough to fit on slightly thicker pegs, but maybe you don't want to press your luck.

That thing's having the time of its afterlife.
  • Optimus Prime Ecto-35 Edition (2019)
An opaque, painted redeco of the above Slimer figurine is included with Optimus Prime Ecto-35 Edition. He retains his "blast effect" capabilities, and can use his 3mm peg hole to mount on top of the ghost trap accessory, which in turn mounts on Roller.

Collab-toy Afterlife Ectotron.jpg
A Slimer figurine similar to the original is included with the Afterlife version of Ectotron. While stock photos show him with a painted mouth and eyes, the final product is unpainted.

Notes

  • Though he debuted in, and was an iconic part of, the original Ghostbusters movie, Slimer was only named such in the cartoon series The Real Ghostbusters (although the credits of Ghostbusters II do use the cartoon moniker). As such, he has never been referred to as "Slimer" on-panel in IDW's Ghostbusters comics, which follow the continuity of the films. However, the Tobin's Spirit Guide reference book, generally written by Erik Burnham to align with IDW continuity, did use the name and gave an origin for it.
  • Slimer was previously voiced by Frank Welker in The Real Ghostbusters, and Troy Baker in Ghostbusters: The Video Game.
  • Kōichi Yamadera dubbed over Slimer in the Japanese dub of The Real Ghostbusters.
