Superfuel is an experimental fuel developed by the government. It is believed to be highly explosive.

A team of Autobots led by Optimus Prime escorted a convoy of tankers carrying superfuel given to the Autobots by the government for testing. Prowl's security measures were not successful in keeping the operation a secret from the Decepticons. Megatron and the Coneheads attacked, but the convoy was able to escape by taking advantage of terrain features that made pursuit difficult for the airborne Decepticons. The incident motivated Megatron to create ground vehicle allies, which resulted in the Stunticons.

Later, the Stunticons raided a facility guarded by the army that housed a supply of superfuel. The Stunticons easily outmaneuvered the defenses with their stunt driving. Since the attackers were ground vehicles, the army mistook them for Autobots. The Key to Vector Sigma, Part 1 Megatron was on his way back to headquarters with the superfuel formula with plans on mass-producing it when he was distracted with more pressing information from Shockwave.
