Talk:Holly Kaneko

From Transformers Wiki

I was going to move this to "Harry Kaneko" and make appropriate changes. Not only is "Harry" closer in pronunciation to his Japanese name, it also conveys the correct gender. However, I'll wait in case, by some off-chance, he has actually officially selected "Holly" as a romanization. None of the links given on the page indicate it, but it pays to be safe. If it was just the decision of whoever wrote the page, though, then I say change it.--Apcog 06:38, 8 December 2007 (UTC)

There are only two romanizations used from what I've seen. Holly and Harî. I'd vote on using the latter since it's more accurate to his actual name rather than his odd attempt at englishicizing it. --Detour 06:56, 8 December 2007 (UTC)
Sounds like a reasonable compromise. Whoever decided on the romanization used for that one site would seem to have misunderstood the implications of the name "Holly", so even if it's official in some respect, there's no need to perpetuate an obvious error.--Apcog 07:02, 8 December 2007 (UTC)
Except that the actual actor himself has consistently used this spelling in all his blogs and websites. Reverted. Evan1975 21:34, 9 August 2009 (EDT)
Well, that's the evidence I was looking for when I started this talk page, thanks. I feel a bit bad for him, as that's simply not a standard male-name spelling in English-speaking countries (as far as I know), but it doesn't seem to have hurt his career.--Apcog 23:57, 9 August 2009 (EDT)
