"By Unicron! I'm faaaabulooouus!!!"

Thundercracker is a founding member of the Mayhem Suppression Squad and its friendly, moral center. If his paintjob doesn't blind his enemies into submission, he's got a 50-meter sonic-dampening effect to shut them up. He feels so sorry for beings that, unlike himself, are incapable of flight, that he sometimes drags them through the sky unsolicited using his, er, "mango-clamps".

During a battle to defend the Arch-Ayr fuel dump from the evil Autobots, the Mayhem Suppression Squad was called in to assist. Thundercracker's blast of anti-sound managed to temporarily silence all of the voices in Arcee's head, leaving her vulnerable to attack. Dungeons & Dinobots

SD SG

Thundercracker accompanied Starscream and Skywarp on an information retreat to Earth. When their last fuel cell ran out, the other two Decepticons called Thundercracker over to the room they were in, so that he could illuminate it with his garish color scheme. Annoyed, Thundercracker vowed to steal all of Starscream's microscopes in retaliation. SD SG #4

Maybe the 90s will finally die after all.

Thundercracker was present for the war's final battle on Earth alongside fellow Seekers Starscream and Skywarp. He gathered with the rest of the troops for Megatron's speech before engaging with the Autobot army, being blasted and nearly executed by Bumblebee before Megatron rescued him by blasting the Autobot with his fusion cannon. Ever the optimist, he sarcastically quipped that he wanted to die after Starscream called out that Optimus Prime had arrived. After Megatron gave the order he then joined the other surviving Decepticons in retreating back to Cybertron. Shattered Glass #2

During this retreat, Thundercracker and Slipstream had to hold back a furious Flamewar, who blamed Starscream for seemingly abandoning Megatron to the mercies of the Autobots. Shattered Glass II #4

Transformers: Earth Wars

Thundercracker-Shattered Glass-Earth Wars.jpg

Thundercracker belies his name by being anything but crass and bombastic.

He's cool, calm, collected - even in the heat of battle - and never allows himself to surrender to the inferior instincts of his enemies. He'd rather outthink or outmaneuver than resort to the impressive weapons array at his disposal, not least of which is his senses-shattering sonic boom. He'd rather use his sonic dampener, a sound suppressor that's equally disorienting.

Friendly, easy-going, he's one of the most affable Decepticons. SG Thundercracker bio

They don't make F-15s like that any more. Or ever.
  • Souvenir 2-Pack (Multi-pack, 2011)
  • Accessories: Left & right launchers, 2 missiles
Timelines Thundercracker and Galvatron were an add-on souvenir set available exclusively at BotCon 2011. Like previous versions of the Classics Thundercracker toy, Shattered Glass Thundercracker is a faithful reproduction of Generation 1 Thundercracker's 1984 toy, but with modern standards of toy engineering, transformation, sculpting detail and articulation. And an eye-searing amount of neon. He transforms into an F-15 Eagle, but has the nose of an F-14 Tomcat fighter jet. Unlike previous versions of the Classics Thundercracker toy, Shattered Glass Thundercracker is a buffet of colors, a visual homage to the Action Master Thundercracker action figure.
A redeco of the Classics Seeker mold as Action Master Thundercracker was originally going to be the attendee freebie figure for BotCon 2010, but the mold was being used for Generations Thrust by Hasbro at the time and thus unavailable. Had it been produced, that figure could probably have doubled as both Action Master Thundercracker and Shattered Glass Thundercracker, much like the Slice/Shattered Glass Wheeljack toy that was made in its stead.
The bio and tech specs for G2 Action Master Thundercracker was published in issue #42 of the Official Collectors' Club magazine in late 2011, making this figure both Shattered Glass Thundercracker and Generation 2 Thundercracker.
There were only 1800 Shattered Glass Thundercracker figures produced. This mold was also used for a buttload of other Seekers.

Notes

A little dab'll do ya.
  • A tiny Thundercracker (using the same Cybertron Starscream body as his fellow jetformers) appears in the background of the BotCon 2008 "One Generation Shattered" lithograph.
  • Thundercracker marks the second instance of the same mold being used to make exclusive toys for two different BotCons. (The first example spanned two continents: Double Punch at BotCon Japan 1998 and Sandstorm at BotCon 1999.) It would be used again a record-breaking third time for BotCon 2013's Rainmakers souvenir package.
  • His bright color scheme is based on his original Action Master toy.
  • Unlike in "Shattered Expectations" and his eventual BotCon toy, Thundercracker appeared on the "One Generation Shattered" lithograph as a "virtual redeco" of the Galaxy Force Voyager-sized Starscream toy.
  • In IDW Publishing's comic, Thundercracker is a virtual redeco of the Siege Starscream toy on Cybertron and the Earthrise Starscream toy on Earth.
