The Decepticons kidnap Bulkhead to build a space bridge while Starscream whips up a batch of clones

Contents

Synopsis

This book recounts the events of "A Bridge Too Close, Part I" and "A Bridge Too Close, Part II", through the use of cartoon screen captures arranged in comic book style panels.

Notes

A Bridge Too Close, Part I

  • The Constructicons repeating "Surrender is not an option" is omitted.
  • Starscream bringing the coward Starscream online is missing, though the initial screen capture of the sequence shows the coward Starscream without his head.
  • The argument between Starscream and the Liar clone is cut down to just a single exchange of "yes, you did!" "No, I didn't!"
  • Liar Starscream's reaction to the female Starscream's first statement is missing.
  • The first scene with Bulkhead painting Sari's portrait is lost in its entirety.
  • Optimus's comment about the painting needing a caption comes after Bulkhead realises the painting is terrible and announces "Yuck!".
  • Prowl and Optimus's reactions after Bumblebee says he might have been wrong about the color are cut.
  • After Lugnut asks who's going to keep an eye on Isaac Sumdac, Megatron goes "Hmmmmm?!" and we don't see what he has in mind until later.
  • The screen capture of Megatron's fusion cannon firing is mirrored.
  • Megatron gives an evil "Heh! Heh! Heh!" after transforming to face the Autobots.
  • It's unclear in the book whether Bumblebee spots Megatron carrying Bulkhead.
  • After he calls Blurr "Zippy", Bumblebee accuses him of working for Megatron.
  • Blurr's dialogue is printed in a smaller font, probably so his lines will fit in the dialog boxes without taking up half the space.
  • Megatron's little speech about using Bulkhead's body to destroy his friends is moved to after the Headmaster unit is activated. His line "Let's test that theory" is cut.
  • Mixmaster and Scrapper swap lines after they spot Bulkhead.
  • The scene ends with Bulkhead agreeing to help finish the space bridge.
  • As Starscream's clone start leaving the moon, Starscream's comment about being a pain in the gear shaft is eschewed in favor of the Sycophant asking "Are you sure we should be doing this? I mean, it looks like a solar storm is coming, and you know what they say about flying in those."
  • Female Starscream's response to the original telling her not to start with him is cut.
  • Ratchet apologizing to the ship and Sari's reactions are omitted.
  • Much of the fight with Blitzwing and Lugnut is missing.
  • Sumdac's reaction before the space bridge fully starts is absent.

A Bridge Too Close, Part II

  • The beginning of the fight between Mixmaster and the Egomaniac is trimmed.
  • The sequence where Bumblebee throws some stasis cuffs to Bulkhead, and the latter getting taken out by the female clone is missing.
  • Prowl and Bumblebee fighting with Mixmaster is omitted.
  • Liar Starscream announcing his loyalty to the original is missing.
  • Ratchet reassuring Omega Supreme that he's right there, and his later "long story" line are trimmed.
  • Starscream's interjection into Megatron's speech, and his silencing by Mixmaster are cut.
  • The Constructicons' confusion over Megatron's speech, also cut.
  • Sari asking Omega to try and get a visual on her dad is missing. Her later "That makes one of us!" line is cut too.
  • Most of the sequence where Sari and Ratchet get Omega Supreme to transform is lost, skipping straight from ship to robot with just a narration box to explain the change.
  • Sari asking what's wrong with Omega Supreme, and Ratchet's response are given the chop.
  • Once Omega gets up and opens fire on the Decepticons, the rest of the scene with the various Decepticons attacking him is missing.
  • The start of the next scene is cut to, skipping to Prowl's humming.
  • The scene with Omega spotting the danger from the space bridge is missing; he just turns up to help out of the blue.
  • The bit where Bulkhead asks the Constructicons if they're planning to escape the collapsing mine is missing.
  • The last scene with Megatron and Starscream floating in space is left out.

Trivia

  • Despite ending on a cliffhanger and theoretically being followed by a third season, this is the last volume in the series. "Transformers Animated: The Adventure Continues! Volume 1" appeared for pre-order on a number of online stores, including Amazon, but to date has failed to materialize.
