I AM CORNHOLIO! ARE YOU THREATENING ME???

Tripledacus (トリプルダクス Toripurudakusu, see notes below) is a nigh-invulnerable, heavily armed combiner comprised of the festive Jointron brothers.

Tripledacus embodies the bond and unity of the Jointron brothers, inheriting their weapons like Motorarm's Magma Horn and DJ's Seven-year Swords (now used as missiles). Tripledacus's size, strength and his powerful Triple Blaster make him a headache for all Predacons, easily tossing them around. Unlike most Combiners, the minds of the Jointron brothers don't merge when they form Tripledacus, but rather, they discuss everything before they do it in tandem. This makes Tripledacus as cheerful and scatterbrained as his components, but nonetheless vital to Lio Convoy.

When the Jointrons crash-landed on Gaia, the first thing they did was combine into Tripledacus and scare the interloping Predacons away. This made them headstrong and they attempted the same tactic against the entire Predacon army, only to lose badly until Lio Convoy and the Maximals bailed them out. The Combined Giant, Tripledacus

Then, after a plan by the Jointrons to lure the Predacons to the Maximal base backfired, they combined into Tripledacus to scare the Autorollers off. The Festive Jointrons They made another attempt to squash the Predacons with their combined form, but were soon immobilized by a bacteria bomb that sapped their energy. The Jointrons eventually realized they could pool their energy and did so, combining into Tripledacus and sending the Combatrons into retreat. A Fearsome Combination Plan?

Galvatron, hoping to learn the secret of combination, ordered the Jointrons' capture. The Jointrons were currently bickering over leadership and foolishly attempted to attack a Predacon installation on their own to prove who was strongest. This made them easy pickings until they decided to work together and combine into Tripledacus, again winning the day. Who Is the Leader!?

After an attempt to improve Bighorn's love life failed miserably, the Jointrons found themselves being attacked by the Seacons. Hoping to take the wanted criminals in and improve their image with Maximal HQ, the Jointrons formed Tripledacus and battled with God Neptune. The Seacons escaped, however. Face the Setting Sun The Jointrons continued their pursuit of the pirates into space and battled them in Gaia's orbit. Both teams were sent reeling by the arrival of the teleport gate, which disassembled Tripledacus before he and God Neptune could finish their rematch. Lio Convoy in Imminent Danger!

When the Angolmois Energy on Gaia came under threat of the Nemesis, Tripledacus attempted to help the Maximals freeze the energy so it couldn't be collected by the artificial planet. The Great Angolmois Freezing Tactic When that didn't work, Tripledacus used his strength to help Lio Convoy's Maximals launch their spacecraft out of Gaia's atmosphere so they could reach Nemesis and destroy it. When the Angolmois Energy-corrupted Lio Convoy fought Galvatron in the desolate city of Tokyo, Scuba sent out a signal for assistance, which the Jointrons answered. As Tripledacus, they arrived just as Galvatron was beaten, but were knocked out of the sky by the malevolent Lio Convoy. Free the Captured Matrix!

Part of the sixth wave of Beast Wars II products in Takara's Beast Wars toyline, Tripledacus is a redeco of the American Beast Wars Ultra Class combiner Tripredacus, an Ultra-sized robot formed from DJ (upper torso and head), Motorarm (arms), and Gimlet (lower torso and legs).
In this form, his right hand is made up of DJ's "Seven-Year Swords" and Motorarm's "Utchari Claw" weapon as fingers. This right hand also contains his "Triple Blaster" which fires his Seven-Year Swords as part of his "Seven-Year Swords Missile" attack. The left hand features Motorarm's beast mode "Magma Horn" as his middle finger; as well as two of his beast mode legs.
Unlike the Hasbro Tripredacus, Tripledacus's three components were primarily sold individually.

He's trying to look like Magnaboss.
  • DJ (candy toy, 1998)
  • Motorarm (candy toy, 1998)
  • Gimlet (candy toy, 1998)
Tripledacus could be assembled by snapping together the three Jointrons model kits from Kabaya's Beast Wars Gum. He's sculpted from red and brownish-grey plastic. Each member came with a set of stickers, including eyes for Tripledacus. When combined, DJ's and Gimlet's legs (including the latter's crotch) are left out of the combiner, possibly due to lack of adequate space. Each member also came with a stick of what could be charitably described as "gum."

Beast Wars Gum DX series

  • Tripledacus (DX series, 1998)
Different from the model kit above, DX series Tripledacus was a non-transforming and non-disassembling painted soft-rubber figurine. It still included candy, though.

Beast Fighters

  • Tripledacus (candy toy, 1997)
Kabaya's Beast Fighters Tripledacus was a small, super deformed PVC model which was hollow inside, designed to be used as a finger-puppet. It was available in a blindpack with fizzy "Ramune" candy.

Notes

  • Despite its similarity to Hasbro's "Tripredacus" name, "Tripledacus" is pronounced something like "triple-dacs", not "try-pled-acus"; the U in the "dacus" part is pretty much silent. Based on Japanese collectable stickers[1][2] and the fact that his counterpart Magnaboss retains the Hasbro toy's name, it seems likely that Takara intended to reuse the Tripredacus name too, but misunderstood how that name is pronounced, resulting in a bad transliteration. "Tripredacus" would be more properly transliterated as Toraipuredakasu (トライプレダカス). Much later, his name would be officially rendered as "Tripledacus" in English-language media by IDW's Beast Wars comics.
  • TakaraTomy reissued two of Tripledacus's components, namely Gimlet and Motorarm, as part of their Beast Wars Telemocha Series in 2007, but omitted DJ from the line-up.
