KOCHI: The high court on Friday extended the anticipatory bail granted to former director general of police Siby Mathews, who is the fourth accused in the Isro espionage frameup case being probed by the CBI.
Justice K Haripal extended the pre-arrest bail until October 27 as the time limit set by the sessions court in the bail granted by it is expiring on October 24.
Senior advocate P Vijayabhanu, representing the applicant, submitted that the 60-day limited imposed by the sessions court is expiring and the high court’s intervention is required for extending it.
A counsel representing the central government sought more time to make submissions on behalf of the CBI. While granting an interim relief, the court has posted the case for hearing on October 27.
