I’m neither aged nor retired, will work with more enthusiasm: Brij Bhushan

LUCKNOW: BJP MP Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, who was denied ticket by the party, said on Friday that though he was not contesting polls, he was like a ‘chutta saand’ (stray bull) and would work for public welfare with double zeal.
Singh, the former Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) chief, is facing allegations of sexual harassment levelled by six women wrestlers.The six-time MP has been replaced by his younger son Karan from Kaiserganj seat.
Campaigning for his son and BJP candidate on Friday, he said: “I have neither aged nor retired. I am going to spend more time in Gonda in the coming days since I am not contesting polls. I am going to work with two times the energy I had earlier. I am just like a stray bull who can take on anybody. I am going to be present for you when you celebrate or mourn. I have only one motto and vision – healthy Gonda, literate Devipatan division and green Devipatan division. I have to achieve a lot of milestones.”
Locals feel Singh would take up and resolve issues which need attention in times to come.
Listing out the local issues and problems such as traffic jam at Colonelganj traffic crossing, lack of flyovers and bridges, flooding, Singh said he would meet the expectations of the public even though not as their elected representative.
“You all will elect two MPs (referring to his active political life and that of his son if he is elected as MP),” said Singh.
Saying that he started his political journey at the age of 33, Singh said it was the right time for his younger son to take his legacy forward.
Appealing to the voters to support the saffron camp, Singh said in Awadhi that voting for the opposition was equivalent to sowing seeds in a barren field.
“Do not support anyone if you do not feel like. But if you want to sow seeds, do it on the BJP’s field,” he added.
