Massive fire breaks out at sanitary napkin factory in Bhiwandi

A massive fire at a sanitary napkin factory in Saravali MIDC, Bhiwandi, was extinguished after six hours by fire teams from Bhiwandi-Nizampura City Municipal Corporation, Thane, and Kalyan. The factory's cotton and plastic materials fueled the blaze.

THANE: A massive fire broke out at sanitary napkin factory situated in Saravali MIDC in Bhiwandi on Tuesday early morning.
At night factory was shut and only security guard and his family was inside factory who managed to come out when fire took place.
The fire brigade official said fire broke out at around 3 am at ground floor of factory which later spread into entire factory.
The fire team of Bhiwandi -Nizampura City Municipal Corporation, Thane fire brigade and Kalyan fire brigade team rushed at spot and started controlling the fire.
The fire brigade official said that since factory has lot of cottons and plastic materials for manufacturing of napkins it took time to control the fire.
Several water tankers were used after which fire was brought under control at around 9 am.
Rajesh Pawar, Chief Fire Officer of Bhiwandi Fire brigade said, "The fire is under control but still cooling operation is going on at spot".
In mishap entire companies materials has gutted in fire. The fire official said that reason behind fire is yet to be known.
