Lok Sabha Election Exit Poll

The 2024 Lok Sabha elections, which commenced on April 19, will conclude on June 1 after a seven-phase polling process. The counting of votes will take place on June 4, and the results will be announced for all states and Union Territories. Exit poll predictions will be revealed on the final day of voting, June 1. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), buoyed by Prime Minister Modi's popularity, has set an ambitious target of securing 370 seats. PM Modi has claimed that the BJP-led NDA will cross 400 seats this time. Meanwhile, the Congress party faces a daunting challenge as it strives to improve its performance, which has been lackluster in the previous two elections. The party has played a pivotal role in forming an alliance of opposition parties under the banner of INDIA (Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance). In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, which were also conducted in seven phases from April 11 to May 19, the BJP emerged victorious with 303 seats, while the Congress secured only 52 seats. Other parties won a total of 187 seats. The BJP-led National Democratic Alliance reached the 352-seat mark, while the Congress-led United Progressive Alliance managed to secure only 91 seats. As the nation awaits the results on June 4, the focus now shifts to the exit polls.

The 2024 witnessed high-octane campaigning by BJP led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi across the country. The INDIA bloc, comprising opposition parties, organized rallies led by prominent figures such as Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi, and Mallikarjun Kharge from the Congress party. Other notable leaders, including Mamata Banerjee from TMC and Sunita Kejriwal, wife of the imprisoned Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal, also participated in the opposition bloc rallies. In contrast, the BJP focused on showcasing its achievements during its 10-year tenure in power. The Congress and INDIA bloc, on the other hand, brought attention to pressing issues such as unemployment and the need for a socio-economic and caste census. Predictions for the 2019 Lok Sabha elections indicated a significant victory for the BJP-led NDA. The forecast suggested that the NDA could secure between 277 and 352 seats, with the BJP alone expected to win anywhere from 227 to 291 seats.
