Hi friends, I’ve hit a followers milestone! Thank you to all my followers who reblogged (if you always write sweet tags ily), sent messages and asks, mentioned me, participated in Tolkien South Asian Week etc. This blog wouldn’t be what it is without you!
I made this sideblog to reblog diverse edits but finding them can be tricky because no one reblogs and there’s no widely used editing tag for them (more here). So, I’ve decided to put together a directory of active creators who make edits with poc, family page-style.
To join:
- must follow me
- reblog this post
- create visual content (graphics, art, gifs…)
- regularly make and/or recently have made edits with poc (not a trick question, just a loose definition of “active creator”. If you consider yourself one, feel free join!)

hi there! I was wondering if you could perhaps reommend some silmarillion blogs that are active and preferably have a tagging system and only post about tolkien stuff? I finally started reading the silm and I need more content (preferably art and graphics, I'm not really into meta stuff or fanfic), thank you in advance!!
hey anon! i’m afraid i don’t really have the time to give you detailed recs. here is my list of general tolkien blog recs; you can go through those and find blogs you like from there.
however my friend @absynthe--minded has generously offered to give you some of her recommendations, check out the notes of this post for that :)
also everyone is of course entitled to their own preferences re: types of content but something i love about this fandom is the great meta and fic we have so personally i think you’re missing out
Okay so in terms of art/edits there’s a nice mix of active and inactive blogs here, all with at least somewhat complete tagging systems
- @omeradyn and @arwenindomiel do edits, along with @arofili (I’m presuming you know this since you asked them)
- @tolkienillustrations, @eldamaranquendi, and @silmarillionno all act as catchalls for sourced art from all around the web
- @feanorianweek, @finweanladiesweek, @doriathweek - really any dedicated week blog is gonna have primarily visual media
- @alyruko, @alystraea, @wavesheep, @tosquinha, @mallornblossom, @princess-faelivrin, @mandhos, @aamuusva, @alef-art, @adanedhel, @celebrimbot, @finwaytootired - all good art blog recs. @cy-lindric and @em-niwa too.
- My blog’s #tolkien and #fanart tags are 99% art, along with my Silmarillion fancast tag featuring edits/faceclaims - you’ll be able to find other content creators there (I’m a fanfic author focusing on Russingon? But I’ve been here since 2011 and my fanart tag is LONG, with lots of different artists in it, all tagged by character and OP.)
