(campaign shared/vetted by 90-ghost here and here)
Hello! I've been speaking to Rajaa @rajaagaza for a few weeks now, and feel very lucky to call her my friend. She and her husband Khaled @khaled-gaza, along with their baby boy Karam, have been displaced and living under horrific conditions in Gaza for many months.
They are aiming to raise the funds necessary to cross into Egypt together when the border opens again. However, despite fundraising for months, they have only raised $8,140 CAD out of their $20,000 CAD goal.
Thanks to the generous people on tumblr, they are getting closer to their goal, but their campaign stagnates very frequently, and they cannot afford for this to keep happening. They will need $13,000 CAD to afford for all three of them to cross into Egypt together, and all remaining funds will be used for associated daily living expenses and travel costs.
You truly do not have to donate a lot to make a significant difference here. If you have $3.63 USD to spare, please consider donating to Rajaa and Khaled's campaign. $3.63 USD = $5 CAD currently.
I'd now like to take the time to include some of Rajaa's own words regarding the dire conditions that she and her family, particularly her beautiful son Karam, are currently experiencing in Gaza. If you could please take the time to read what Rajaa has to say, I would be greatly appreciative. Here is Rajaa's message to you:
A Broken Childhood π
How my son suffered under unforgiving conditions?ππ
In a world that is supposed to be a refuge from fear and anxiety, my son, who was seven months old when these harsh conditions began, experienced profound fear and pain. Instead of his early years being filled with innocence and joy, he lived in constant anxiety, constant stress, and indescribable deprivation.
Every unfamiliar sound or vibration disturbed his peace and filled him with fear, turning his childhood into a frightening experience.
He had no chance to learn childhood games or experience joy. Instead, he lived with anxiety and deprivation, and every glance in his eyes carried pain and fear.
Two days ago, during his 18-month vaccination, measurements clearly showed Karam's malnutrition, with a weight of 8.5 kg and an arm circumference of 14 cm. Our struggles included securing food, water, and medicine. His eyes reflected hunger and deprivation, depriving him of enjoying his childhood.
Diseases spread due to pollution and poor hygiene, increasing our suffering and difficulties in accessing treatment, which affected his mental and physical well-being.
Despite the challenges, I continue to exert my utmost effort to ensure safety and comfort in Karam's life, striving to improve his situation and provide a better future. We need your support to transform Karam's life.
Please donate now or share and reblog to give him the opportunity to live with dignity, health, and the chance to move to a safe place.
Donating via PayPal enables me to buy some food that has become available, such as frozen items and some vegetables and fruits...which I cannot buy due to the rise in their prices and the loss of my income stream. There will be a 25% commission discount when withdrawing, but it does not matter for the sake of Karam's health. Be generous and donate here.
Thank you for all your support and shares. Let's work together to change Karam's destiny and give him hope in these difficult times.ππ₯Ίπ
